Section Title

Centrally located near the University of Oregon campus, the 120 unit Garden Way Retirement Community occupies a prominent site near the intersection of Interstate 5 and Interstate 105. Taking cues from the surrounding 100 year old historic neighborhood, the four story structure features towers, gabled roof forms, shingle and lap siding, and ground level covered porches and trellises to reduce the apparent size and mass of the structure. A double height lobby opens to the gracious dining room with an alfresco dining area surrounded by gardens in the enclosed courtyard. Public spaces and amenities are organized along a “Main Street” circulation spine with elevators and seating located at vaulted octagonal nodes where the residential wings intersect.
